Seachem Polyguard
10 Grams; Treats 800 Liters (210 gal.)
*PolyGuard is one of the more effective medications to keep freshwater fish free of disease!
It can be an effective treatment and safeguard against all prevalent bacterial, fungal, and parasitic diseases of exotic fish.
A reasonable alternative treatment for Columnaris and fin/tail infections providing good water management (including Redox Balance) is utilized often along with topical treatment of any sores/infection with AAP Wound Control or maybe Methylene Blue.
Contains malachite green, sulfa, quinacrine, and nitrofurazone medications
*Dosing: Use 1 measure (included) per every 40 L (10 US gallons) of water. Repeat this dose every 72 hours for a maximum of 2 weeks. Repeat every 3 days for up to 2 weeks or until symptoms disappear. Can be used whenever introducing new fish.
*NOT SAFE for Invertebrates!!
* A similar alternative to PolyGuard is to use a Medicated Wonder Shell & AAP Yellow Powder (premium nitrofurazone) (OR AAP Furan 2).
PolyGuard would be stronger for many parasitic issues, in particular Ich, as well as stronger for fungal infections.
While the Medicated Wonder Shell/AAP Yellow Powder (premium nitrofurazone) combination would be better for most bacterial problems and also provide mineral Cations to lower oxidative stress.
